Event Wrap Up

1st July 2019

Last month saw the first annual Western Sydney Parklands Trail Run, proudly supported by Western Sydney Parklands!

There was a great turn out of nearly 500 trail runners who completed the event across the 19km, 11km, 4km and 1.6km Kids Dash courses. Some mighty fine rolling hills were experienced by the 11km and 19km runners, it’s not a trail run if you don’t get a little burn in those legs? This is why we love it!

The early chilly conditions saw many runners hopping & skipping to keep warm before the start gun went off, but once they were going, the memories were surely erased. Many families enjoyed the chance to run Sydney’s Biggest Backyard together. The spectacular views of Sydney CBD no doubt presented numerous photo opportunities to runners on course. The event Charity Partner TAD – Freedom Wheels appreciates the community support at the event as it means they can continue to help provide custom bikes for kids living with a disability. Their team of skilled volunteers and staff design, build and deliver bikes to suit the specific needs of each child so they can achieve their dreams of cycling.

We hope all runners enjoyed the event and are looking to add it to their regular trail running calendar because we’ll be back in 2020!
